We Won't Exceed 3yrs In Power, But Any Form Of Intervention Won't Be A Walk In The Park" Niger Junta

According to PUNCH NEWSPAPER, Abdourahamane Tchiani, the leader of the Niger Junta, has announced that their time in power will not extend beyond three years, and after that, a transition of power will take place. He made this declaration during a recent televised address.

Following the ousting of President Muhammed Bazoum by Abdourahamane Tchiani and his troops, the global community has been engaged in discussions about the situation in Niger.

Notably, the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has been making efforts to reinstate Bazoum as the president since the coup unfolded in Niger Republic.

Tchiani clarified that the military Junta has no intention of retaining power for an extended period. He conveyed that a transfer of power will occur after a period of three years. However, he acknowledged that if a military intervention were to take place, it would not be an easy endeavor.

Tchiani emphasized, "We won't exceed power before we hand over, but in the case of military intervention, it will never be a walk in the park."
