According to an article written by Healthline, arthritis is a disease that affects the joints with pains, and it comes in different types. Examples of arthritis include osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis.


It is important to know that you can prevent arthritis, but arthritis gotten as a result of old age or family may not be prevented. This article will look at 4 ways to prevent arthritis, as you advance in age. They include the following:

1. Eat foods rich in omega-3 fatty acid

Foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids are beneficial to the body because they help to reduce inflammation in the body. It also helps to prevent rheumatoid arthritis symptoms in the joint. Omega-3 fatty acids can be gotten in foods or supplements.

2. Do not be overweight

Having a normal weight can help prevent the pains caused by arthritis. Being overweight puts pressure on your knee, which can result in pain in osteoarthritis arthritis.

3. Protect your joints


Your joints can easily be affected by bending, lifting heavy objects, and squatting. People who are builders, cleaners, farmers and metal workers may easily be affected by arthritis, because of the nature of their job. Using the right technique when you lift objects, may prevent your risk of developing arthritis.

4. Treat infections

Bacteria and viruses can affect your joint causing arthritis. Septic arthritis is a painful form of joint disease caused by a bacteria known as Staphylococcus aureus.
