Alan assures, "I Will Break Ghana's Industrialization And Unemployment Curse."

Alan Kyerematen, a New Patriotic Party flagbearer candidate, asserts that his years of dedication to empowering local businesses and attracting and retaining investments in Ghana make him the ideal candidate to lead the party to victory in the general election of 2024.

He stated that any leader who would succeed President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo must have a track record of creating jobs and supporting businesses to alleviate the crippling challenges of industrialisation and youth unemployment.

On the basis of this, he was optimistic that the party's delegates would reward his hard work, allowing him to implement policies that would encourage businesses to expand and create employment in order to address socioeconomic issues.

As part of a day-long tour of the Central Region, the former Trades and Industry Minister made the promise during a courtesy visit to Osabarimba Kwesi Atta II, Omanhen of Oguaa Traditional Area at the Emintimadze Palace.

The purpose of the visit was also to inform the Chiefs and people of Oguaa of his intention to run in the NPP's presidential primary and to solicit their support.

He pledged to build on the government's 10-point Industrial Transformation Programme, including the One District One Factory (1D1F) initiative and the establishment of strategic anchor industries to diversify the economy beyond cocoa and gold, given his extensive knowledge of the country's industrialization agenda.

He cited automobile assembly, apparel and textiles, pharmaceuticals and the petrochemical industry, industrial parks, special economic zones, and the promotion of domestic retail trade and distribution as factors that contribute to the economic expansion.

During his tenure as Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr. Kyerematen oversaw the establishment and operationalization of more than 100 companies under this initiative, with 24 more in the planning stages and 150 still under construction.

Under his administration, Volkswagen, Nissan, and Toyota opened assembly plants in Ghana as part of the automotive assembly initiative; consequently, he chose to build on these initiatives.

For Cape Coast, he pledged to collaborate with all relevant authorities to spearhead the city's development by promoting small and medium-sized businesses, fisheries, agriculture, and industrialization.

In response, Osabarima Kwesi Atta thanked the native for returning home and praised him for his determination to address the unemployment crisis in the nation.

He stated, "I appreciate your vision to combat unemployment. I have stacks of applications from graduates seeking employment, but where are the jobs?

"It is extremely discouraging for children to go through the rigors of schooling only to remain unemployed after graduation. This is not the finest, so we appreciate your vision and pray you are successful in your endeavor."

He admonished political candidates of all parties and their supporters to avoid using foul language and to be tolerant of opposing viewpoints.

Later, Alan Kyerematen paid a courtesy call on the Omanhen of Edina Traditional Area, Nana Kodwo Conduah VI, as well as his maternal residence, where he was welcomed with a brief ceremony.

In a brief remark, Nana Kodwo Conduah encouraged Alan Kyerematen to remain steadfast in his political pursuit by working diligently and praying for success.

Nana Ohene Ntow, the former national general secretary, Yaw Boaben Asamoa, the former national NPP communications director, Catherine Ablema Afeku, the former minister of tourism, arts, and culture, Gifty Klenam, the former chief executive officer of the Ghana Export Promotion Authority, and a host of other regional, constituency, and polling station executives accompanied Alan Kyerematen.
