Ambrose Dery warns against carrying arms, ammunition in Chereponi

The hours of the curfew in the Chereponi Township and its surrounding areas in the North East Region have been renewed thanks to an Executive Instrument issued by the Minister of the Interior, Ambrose Dery.

According to a statement that was released by the Ministry on June 7, 2023, this begins at 10:00 night and continues until 4:00 am the following morning.

According to the statement, "The government continues to urge Chiefs, Elders, Opinion Leaders, Youth, and people of the area to exercise restraint in the face of the challenges confronting them as well as to use non-violent means to channel their energies into ensuring peace in the area." This was stated in the statement. "The government continues to urge Chiefs, Elders, Opinion Leaders, Youth, and people of the area."

Additionally, it stated that "Meanwhile, there is a total ban on all persons in the afore-mentioned communities and its environs from carrying arms, ammunition, or any offensive weapon, and any persons found with any arms or ammunition will be arrested and prosecuted."
