CEO of Goldstar Air encourages Ghana to invest more in aviation...

Mr. Eric Bannerman, Chief Executive Officer of the private Ghanaian airline Goldstar Air, has urged the youth in Ghana to seize the employment prospects in the country's aviation industry. He claims that because the airline is developing Goldstar City, which includes training facilities at Tamale for pilots, ground service crew, cabin crew, service person in maintenance, counter agents, travel agents, tour operators, country managers, station managers, and I.T. specialists, there is a need to develop the technical know-how of more Ghanaians willing to enter the sector in order to take advantage of the opportunities available.

The airline has an Air Carrier License (ACL) from the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority and is waiting for the Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) to be finished. Once this is done, we will be able to operate both scheduled and non-scheduled passenger and cargo services.

Mr. Bannerman described the difficulties some operators encountered while trying to assemble the necessary workforce to run their businesses.

Despite this obstacle, the CEO is adamant that when our facilities are ready, the cost of aviation operations in Ghana would be reasonable. Our goals as an airline are to create a cutting-edge, innovative aviation sector that can compete on a global scale in terms of cost, quality, reliability, punctuality, and safety.

People in the airline industry need to be aware of this problem and encourage young people in Ghana to work in the industry because it will be advantageous for Ghana as a whole to have experts in all facets of this industry who have credentials that meet international standards and who also keep the money and skills local.

According to the CEO of Goldstar Air, some factors for the low use of domestic flights should be investigated to determine how to increase bus fares. It may be necessary to lower rates to the absolute minimum in order to draw more customers to their services. "When progress is made in attracting more Ghanaians to the sector, it will have a positive effect on the nation's economy."

He said, "I'm happy about the recent $3 billion IMF loan approval for Ghana and encourage the current government to invest some of this money into the local airline industry," and he also thanked everyone who had supported Goldstar Air, the Wings of Ghana, since it was founded, despite all the negative images that had been painted by mysterious groups and the editing and blocking of the airline on Wikipedia. GCAA Press Release dated September 19, 2017, was clarified in a letter dated October 9, 2017, from the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority, signed by the then-Director General Mr. Simon Allotey. Additionally, Goldstar Air had an air carrier license when we entered into our agreement with the Liberian government to establish Lone Star Air.

"Permit me to remark that we are still waiting for the official go-ahead from the authorities to take to the skies and offer a lovely, practical, and customer-focused experience. Because west Africa lacks a strong airline, maintenance repair organization (MRO), training facilities, and an airport hub despite having over forty airports and over three hundred million people in fifteen countries, Goldstar Air aspires to become a strong carrier first in west Africa and then throughout all of Africa.
