Court Adopts Terms Of Settlement In Shatta Wale Bulldog Case

In a defamation suit, the Accra High Court approved an out-of-court settlement agreement filed by dancehall artist Charles Nii Armah Mensah, also known as Shatta Wale, and his erstwhile Manager Lawrence Asiamah Hanson, also known as Bulldog.

The attorneys on both parties informed the court of the terms of the settlement before the trial could begin.

On Tuesday, June 27, 2023, the Court presided over by Justice Joseph Agyemang Adu Owusu granted Shatta Wale's attorneys' request for a two-week adjournment in order to file the terms of settlement, which was made at the last court session on June 13, 2023.

Dr. Justice Srem Sai, the attorney for Lawrence Asiamah Hanson, also known as Bulldog, informed the court that the terms of settlement in the same field have been met.

In light of this, the attorney pleaded with the court to implement the settlement terms between the parties as a consent judgment.

Meanwhile, Shatta Wale's attorney, Major Selasie Atuwo, apprised the court of the passing of the firm's managing partner, Madam Cynthia Quarcoo.

Ms. Quarcoo reportedly passed away on Tuesday after a brief illness.

Bulldog filed a lawsuit against Shatta Wale following a November 2017 post on his social media page accusing him of the assassination of Kwaw Kese's manager, Fennec Okyere.

Shatta Wale made additional accusations against Bulldog. Bulldog claimed that the series of allegations made against him were malevolent and defamatory, and he sued Shatta Wale for damages.
