Do You Remember The Girl Who Acted Sarafina? See How She Looks Now After 30 Years.

At some point in their lives, every person undergoes both positive and negative alterations. A famous actress who starred in the film Sarafina 31 years ago has been experiencing unusual skin changes, and she has defied the odds by accepting them permanently.

This thrilling 1992 film's primary character, portrayed by Leleti Khumalo. Sarafina's complexion turned white years after the film's release, and it wasn't due to bleaching. She was once a beautiful young woman with chocolate-colored complexion.

Due to her drastic transformation, it is difficult to recognize Sarafina's visage unless you are told she is the same person. Leleti Khumalo, also known as Sarafina, was born without any white skin and had brown complexion.

She suffered from vitiligo, a condition that severely impairs one's sense of self. Vitiligo is an auto-immune condition that is harmful to the skin and extremely contagious, according to its definition.

There is currently no known treatment for vitiligo. It can whiten the epidermis, eyes, mouth, hands, and in some cases the entire body.

Unfortunately, Sarafina is currently experiencing this, and as a consequence of this condition destroying her body, she now has white skin instead of black skin.

Vitiligo develops when pigment-producing cells perish and pigment production ceases. This results in gradual bleaching and permanent damage to the epidermis.

Leleti asserts that when she was 18 years old, the first thing she noticed was that her limb was turning white and developing white spots.

She ignored it and was unaware that it was a vitiligo symptom. The talented actress, who is now 53 years old, subsequently married and had triplets, but one of them died, leaving her with only two children.

She acknowledged that her current appearance is the result of a pregnancy-related skin condition that is worsening. Using her condition, she advocates for body positivity and self-love.
