Former Hearts of Oak and Kotoko star Charles Taylor hints of a return to active football

In an effort to save Ghana football, former Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko star Charles Taylor has hinted at a return to active play.

A portion of Ghanaians have expressed concern over the decline of Ghana football in recent years, due to the lackluster performance of the various national teams.

Ghana has been eliminated from tournaments early in recent years. The Black Stars were unsuccessful at both the AFCON 2021 and FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The Black Meteors have recently contributed to the decline of Ghanaian football after being eliminated in the group stage of the ongoing U23 AFCON in Morocco.

In an effort to save the game, the former Black Stars midfielder has hinted at a return to football in order to teach the players vital lessons.

"Ghana's football will collapse if we don't intervene. We must show them that football is played on the field and not in the mouth."

"In football, experience is not determined by age, but rather by skill with the object. Gavi and Pedri of Barcelona are youthful, but because they know what to do with the ball on the field, they are both club and national team starters. Therefore, we should cease characterizing maturity by age," he said.
