Ghana FA Interested In Thomas Tuchel As New Black Stars Coach

The Ghana Football Association is interested in recruiting Thomas Tuchel, a former coach of Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund, to be the next Black Stars manager.

Due to poor performance, English Premier League club, Chelsea fired the German coach earlier this season, leaving him jobless.

The Ghana Football Association is pursuing Tuchel, the former manager of Ligue 1 superpower Paris Saint-Germain.

The former Chelsea coach has reportedly been chosen by the Ghana FA to fill the vacant Black Stars coaching position left open by Otto Addo’s resignation following the World Cup.

He is the person Ghana FA believes is best suited to lead the Black Stars, and they want him to take over.

The Black Stars were prevented from taking revenge for their quarterfinal exit at the 2010 World Cup thanks to Uruguay’s 2-0 victory over Ghana in their Group H conclusion, but this thrilling victory for La Celeste at the 2022 edition came at a heavy price.

Despite Uruguay’s victory over Ghana, South Korea’s 2-1 victory over Portugal in a similar group stage decider allowed them to pass both of these teams late in the game, ensuring that they would proceed to the last 16 and send both of these teams home.

In their quarterfinal matchup in 2010, Luis Suarez’s handball at the end of extra time overshadowed the lead-up to the game.

Twelve years ago, Asamoah Gyan’s gaffe proved fatal for Ghana, but team captain Andre Ayew, the lone survivor from the 2010 squad, was powerless to get revenge.
