Hafiz Konkoni Given Late Call-Up To Black Stars For Madagascar Clash

Hafiz Konkoni of Bechem United has been invited to join the Black Stars for their qualifier against Madagascar for the Africa Cup of Nations.

The first local player to be called up by coach Chris Hugton is Konkoni.

With the addition of Konkoni, the total number of players in the squad has increased to 25, as Ghana seeks to secure a victory and a spot in the tournament in Ivory Coast next year.

Konkoni joins the team after an outstanding season in which he scored 15 goals in 26 appearances for Bechem United, a team that competed for the Ghana Premier League, which was ultimately won by Medeama.

The match between Ghana and Madagascar is scheduled to take place in Antananarivo on June 18, 2023. The team will start training on June 12th.
