Hearts of Oak urge fans to stop wailing and focus on last GPL match

Kwame Opare Addo, who serves as the public relations officer for Hearts of Oak, has urged the club's supporters not to express dissatisfaction with the team's recent play by instead encouraging them to have a positive attitude into the final game of the season.

After 33 games, the Phobians have lost 12 of them, including a recent stretch in which they lost four games in a row. This has caused them to fall to the 11th position, putting an end to their aspirations of finishing in the top four, and even making them more susceptible than ever to being relegated.

Hearts of Oak now have 45 points, which puts them just three points above the drop zone and into the group of six clubs that will compete for survival on the last day of the tournament.

Opare Addo accepted the obstacles but asked the fans to rather focus positively ahead of the last match.

"When the team is victorious, everyone wants to take credit for it, but when things go poorly, people begin to blame individuals for what went wrong.

“I think we would have to advise ourselves not to fully focus on the past but rather think more about the future assignments. We have lost four matches in a row and this is really difficult and I know no true Hearts of Oak supporter will take it lightly.

“But if we will focus on the four defeats and allow it to weigh us down we would not be able to focus on our last game. And in the end, both your sobs and mine will amount to nothing more than noise in the wind.

Berekum Chelsea, currently in 10th place, will be the opponent for Hearts of Oak in the final game of the season.
