I Stole A Car And Other Items To Buy Cocaine, Which Led To My Father's Death – Reformed Addict

Disciple Eric Annor, a reformed drug addict, has described how his cocaine addiction placed him in prison multiple times and led to the death of his father.

The reformed addict told Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm that his father perished in prison for stealing a car, selling it, and using the proceeds to support his cocaine addiction.

In describing his ordeal, he disclosed that the first vehicle he took was a Toyota worth GHC15,000 at the time, which he subsequently sold for GHC4,500.

He informed the host of Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5 FM, Kwabena Agyapong, that he began using marijuana in high school.

He admitted to using cocaine while attending college.

Mr. Annor stated that after selling the vehicle, he did not receive the complete amount because the buyer, a drug dealer, paid in installments.

According to Annor, the theft started at home, where he stole items to sell in order to purchase narcotics.

"I began thieving at home before moving out and stealing outside. I swiped a GHC 15,000 automobile and sold it for GHC 4,500. No matter what you do, if you are addicted to cocaine, you will pilfer to satisfy your cravings. The proceeds from the sale of the vehicle were exhausted within two weeks."

Even though there was a CCTV camera present, the second theft attempt involved laptop computers.

He also disclosed that he attempted to steal another vehicle, but instead stole laptops from the vehicle.

The car was subsequently identified as belonging to a BNI official.

He was apprehended and led the fellow to the location where he sold the recovered laptops.

He claimed the proprietor pardoned him and decided not to pursue the case, so he spent a month in jail.

He also confessed to breaking out of a police cell and escaping, resulting in a six-month jail sentence.

He claimed he did so in order to go out and inhale cocaine, as his desire to do so at the time was intense.
