I Wrote The Lyrics For Ohenaa Mercy's Hit Song 'Aseda' – Kaywa

In an interview with Caleb Nii Boye on 3FM on Saturday, July 29, 2023, the Ghanaian music producer Kaywa revealed that he penned the lyrics for the award-winning gospel artist Ohemaa Mercy's popular single "Aseda."

According to him, he was inspired to introduce afrobeats to the gospel genre when he realized that it was not already being utilized in that genre.

According to him, his first attempt at this was with Diana Hamilton's composition "Work In Progress," but he did not give it his all.

Before asking Ohemaa Mercy to perform "Aseda," however, Kaywa said he wrote the song's lyrics himself. Additionally, he stated that "Mo Ne Yo" is the third afrobeats devotional song he has produced.

He emphasized that he is delighted to have established trends in afrobeats gospel music and that he does not wish to follow them.

In addition, he stated that Ghanaians can anticipate an album from him in the future, although he may not perform on it.

"You should also prepare for a Kaywa album." I cannot confirm that I will be singing. It will feature artists. I'll attempt to croon, but if it doesn't go well, it won't be heard. "It is a very difficult task," he said.

Kaywa is a highly regarded music producer in Ghana, and he has collaborated with some of the industry's most prominent figures, including Kwabena Kwabena, Bisa Kdei, and Diana Hamilton.

His innovative production style and ability to merge musical genres have earned him widespread renown.
