In what civilised country can this happen? – NDC’s Sammy Gyamfi slams CJ

Sammy Gyamfi, National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has lobbied Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo for a new rule in submitting injunction applications at the Supreme Court.

The new regulation, according to the NDC national officer, gives only the Chief Justice the authority to determine deadlines for injunction applications.

"The Chief Justice must be called out," Sammy Gyamfi remarked on Saturday, September 9.

"It is completely repugnant for us to have a situation in this country where you file an injunction application in the Supreme Court and are told that you cannot be given a hearing date because the Chief Justice has traveled."

"The Chief Justice has now issued new guidelines."
