Inspector Promised To Commit Suicide After Killing His Fiancee, But Fled To Sekyere To Avoid Arrest

Police Inspector Ahmed Twumasi (alias Tycoon), who allegedly murdered his fiancée Victoria Dapaah at the Dufie Towers in Kumasi, confided to a friend that he was going to commit suicide and warned them not to reveal his heinous act to anyone if questioned.

Inspector Twumasi fled the scene after perpetrating the gruesome murder by shooting the victim multiple times on the evening of Thursday, April 20, 2023. However, he later called a close relative and confessed to the crime, promising to end it all.

Due to the confession in the conversation that had gone viral, it was speculated that he may have committed suicide when police launched a manhunt for him.

After religious tracking by the Ghana Police Service, Inspector Twumasi was apprehended at Sekyere, near Effiduase in the Ashanti Region on the evening of Sunday, April 23, 2023.

"The suspect, who had been on the run since the shooting incident, was apprehended at Sekyere, near Effiduase in the Ashanti Region, as a result of a special police operation mounted in response to the shooting.

The suspect is currently in police custody and will be brought to court to face justice, the police announced in a statement.

Inspector Twumasi was in a relationship until Victoria Dapaah's now-deceased attempts to break up with him lead to his death.
