John Mahama Makes Ghana Proud As He Bags Leadership Award From Top University

During the week, former President John Mahama was one of the keynote speakers at the Liberty University. Liberty University, the world’s largest Christian University is hosting hundreds of chief executives, political figures and athletes at the Second CEO Summit. The former president was called to share and inspire the students on their spiritual lives. He touched on a number of personal life changing experience he had to endure.

According to the President he has occupied all levels of leadership in Ghana and can boldly say that it has been by the grace of God. He opened up on his humble beginnings and how God steered him all the way to the top. John Mahama even made a joke about the donkey Jesus sat which drew applauds from the crowd.

At the end of the day, the former President was awarded with a Global Award for Leadership. The award was to celebrate John Mahama for ‘governing wisely, advocating and achieving a consistent track record on economic development, women’s participation in education, and enhancing economic growth’. According to the Dean of the Liberty University of Business, John Mahama has demonstrated strong Christian leadership despite coming under so much pressure during his governance in Ghana.

Many have raised questions about the leadership of the former President. In Ghana many critics of John Mahama argue that his era signaled one of the worse economic turns in the country. The ruling NPP communicators feel that Ghanaians have no reason to give John Mahama another tenure. In the last elections a little over 6 million Ghanaians voted for John Mahama which meant that many still see him as a visionary leader. John Mahama is expected to lead the NDC in election 2024. He might have a clear lead but will the NPP look on and allow the NDC to win?

Congrats to John Mahama for picking the award.
