Kuami Eugene Subtly Responds to Amakye Dede's Comment Regarding 'Forced Crowning'

Kuami Eugene, a gifted musician, has sent a discreet response to the legendary Amakye Dede for reversing his position that he is the new Messiah of the Highlife genre.

In a recent media discussion, Amakye Dede recalled the 2019 event that occurred on the night of the 20th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards and suggested that Kuami Eugene was not crowned of his own volition.

Amakye Dede has disclosed it was all a well-orchestrated conspiracy, despite the fact that at the time, netizens viewed the act as a classic example of brotherhood support.

"Although I did that, I did so against my will. I was compelled to crown Kuami Eugene. I even gave the crown they gave me to someone to set it down, but they told me I had to crown him, so I did," he disclosed.

He did not, however, divulge the identities of those behind the plotted agenda.

The comments have sparked discussions on social media about the lengths to which artists will go to remain pertinent in the industry.

As a response, Kuami Eugene, who has been on sabbatical since last month, has returned to social media with a video intended to solidify his position as the King of Highlife.

The video depicted another legend, Daddy Lumba, congratulating him and reiterating his indisputable contribution to the musical space.

In a strange coincidence, Daddy Lumba used the same words Amakye Dede did during the coronation incident in the video.

They concur that Kuami Eugene is the face of the new school and the sole performer deemed qualified to succeed the legends.

By sharing the most recent video, Kuami Eugene is subtly indicating to Amakye Dede that he may have recanted his statements, but other legends continue to believe he is the greatest.
