NDC Flagbearer Contest; MP For Okaikwei North Vows To Support Mahama

Madam Theresa Lardi Awuni, the member of parliament for Okaikwei North, has stated that the NDC in the constituency will vote overwhelmingly for former president John Dramani Mahama in the party's nomination contest.

She believes that Mr. Mahama is the finest candidate to return the NDC to power.

On Thursday, April 20, during Mr. Mahama's visit to the district, a first-term representative told a gathering that Ghanaians are suffering and need the NDC to save them.

The NDC cannot disappoint Ghanaians in this regard, according to Awuni.

As a result, she assured Mr. Mahama of her sustained support prior to, during, and after the party's presidential election.

"I extend a warm greeting to Okaikwei North to the incoming president of the Republic of Ghana, our esteemed Regional Chairman, and with all protocols observed. This is North Okaikwei. We are the creators of civilization. We are orphans despite having jolted the foundations of NPP, because our father is not in the kitchen. John Dramani Mahama, the former president of Ghana, is my father and my mentor.

Okaikwei North Member of Parliament assures Mahama he will win 100 percent of the vote in the NDC flagbearer election.

"I recall telling him that I wanted to run in the NDC primaries in Okaikwei North. He challenged me by looking at me in silence and saying, "Theresa, deliver"

"When I returned and sat down with my executive, I reported that the man had only a few words, but they were weighty. We promised to deliver this seat to you as a birthday present in 2020, and we did so. We now assure you that we will support you 100 percent on May 13, so that you can return the NDC to power," she said.

Former President Mahama, former Finance Minister Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, and former Kumasi Mayor Kojo Bonsu have been approved to run in the NDC primaries on 13 May.

Mr. Mahama, Kojo Bonsu, and Dr. Duffuor occupied the first, second, and third positions, respectively, on the ballot following the voting for the presidential primaries.
