The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has requested full information on the next limited voter registration process mandated by law from the Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC).
The Commission has planned the exercise to begin in its district offices on Tuesday, September 12.
The drill is scheduled to conclude on Monday, October 2.
It will be held every day from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
However, the NDC's General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, has officially written to the Commission demanding additional details on the exercise.
This was revealed by the party's 2024 presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama, during a Facebook Live address on Wednesday, September 6.
He stated that the party would like to know when the photographs of all registration officers will be made accessible.
"As requested in a formal letter to the Commission by the NDC's General Secretary, we want to know when the names and pictures of the registration supervisors, registration officers, registration assistants, and other officials for the exercise will be published at the district level as stipulated by the EC regulation," the former President explained.
Other details sought, he said, are the exact number and distribution of workstations, registration kits, and other logistics for the exercise.
Starting Tuesday, NDC officials have been directed to cease all activities in order to ensure that all eligible voters participate in the election.
