Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, vice president, has chosen his nomination papers so that he can run in the next New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer elections.
On May 30, he selected the documents. Former NPP Vice Chairman Fred Oware and former National Organiser Sammy Awuku selected the forms on his behalf.
On Friday, May 26, the NPP began accepting nominations for its flagbearer elections.
According to a news release released on Thursday, May 25, the deadline for nominations is Saturday, June 24.
Therefore, an aspirant for the presidency must pay a non-refundable nomination cost of $50,000 Ghana Cedis (GH$50,000.00) alone, according to the announcement. This money must be paid by banker's draft.
