NPP Super Delegates Conference: Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu satisfied with outcome

The outcome of the New Patriotic Party's Super Delegates' Conference, according to Majority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, was satisfactory.

He was, however, dissatisfied with how some of the candidates acted in the aftermath of the polls.

Mr. Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu stated that he is generally pleased with the outcome of his party's presidential primary first round.

He stated that, while there were minor transgressions during the election, delegates and party members generally behaved themselves.

Some of the candidates have been accused of intimidation, violence, and vote buying.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia was declared the winner of the election, with Kennedy Ohene Agyapong coming in second and Alan Kyerematen coming in third.

Some people connected to other candidates have made comments implying that polls were rigged in some places.

However, the Member of Parliament for Suame, who supports Dr. Bawumia, said attempts by some of the candidates to taint Dr. Bawumia's triumph will fail.

"We've all heard some people accusing some of the candidates of attempting to manipulate the elections, even though every objective person will recognize that, to a large extent, this was a hotly contested election and that freeness and fairness can be attested to."

On Saturday, November 4, the party will elect its 2024 presidential candidate.
