The National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA) deserves praise for immediately withdrawing the history textbooks that were on the market yet contained objectionable elements, according to deputy education minister John Ntim Fordjour.
It has been claimed that Excellence Publications' textbooks disparaged Christianity.
The deputy minister stated in a tweet, "I completely condemn the very offensive information revealed in a textbook issued by 'Excellence Publications' and smuggled into the market for unwary students.
"The information is disgusting and misguided. I agree that NaCCA should have recalled the books and imposed sanctions sooner.
