Napo is being targeted because of his kindness – Top journalist

A prominent journalist claims that some members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) dislike Energy Minister Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh alias 'Napo' due to his immense popularity within the governing political party.

Kwaku Dawuro of Wontumi Radio and Movement Television revealed that Napo's exceptional generosity has made him the toast of NPP members and supporters across the nation.

According to him, many NPP members adore Napo because he is approachable, incredibly kind, and always willing to lend a hand to his party members and even non-NPP members.

Kwaku Dawuro stated, however, that Napo's ever-increasing popularity within the NPP appears to be unsettling 'wicked' members of the party, who have developed an irrational loathing for him.

"Napo is beloved by the majority of NPP members due to his generosity. There are reports of Napo assisting party members in need who approach him for assistance.


"This kind nature of Napo has made him very popular in the party, so some envious individuals in the NPP, who despise him without justification, have begun nefarious acts to bring him down, but it won't work.

Kwaku Dawuro stated on his Movement TV program, "I've never met Napo in person, but his incredible generosity and good deeds are everywhere, and we're all very proud of him."

As a reminder, the Daily Guide, which is owned by the former National Chairman of the NPP, Freddie Blay, recently published a false story with the solitary intent of tarnishing Napo's reputation.

Intriguingly, the newspaper has acknowledged that its reporting about Napo was fabricated to harm his reputation. Since then, the Daily Guide has issued an apology and retracted the hoax story with another publication.

Kwaku Dawuro stated that in addition to being affable and approachable, Napo has effectively marketed himself through his outstanding performance in the current NPP administration.


"Without Napo, the NPP administration would not have been able to implement the free Senior High School (SHS) policy. "He has also ended the power outage known as 'Dumsor'," he remarked and praised Napo.

The leading broadcast journalist stated that the opposition NDC is also afraid of Napo because he is courageous and effective, adding that "the naysayers in the NPP should let Napo have his peace and allow him to continue his good works for mother Ghana."
