Nigerian singer Ayra Starr refused visa to perform in Europe, says it is incredibly frustrating

Due to difficulties obtaining a visa, the Nigerian Afrobeats musician Ayra Starr was required to cancel her forthcoming performances in Berlin, Bergenfest, and Copenhagen.

The artist who is known for her song "Sability" vented her anger about the circumstances on her Instagram account, adding that the difficulties with obtaining a visa had taken a significant toll on her.

She told her devoted following that she was sorry the shows had to be canceled and that she would make up for it with a performance that would live long in their memories as soon as the problems with her visa were overcome.

"The problems with visas have been devastating! Due to unforeseen circumstances, I was forced to postpone or cancel my performances in Berlin, Bergenfest, and Copenhagen. It is quite annoying, but as soon as this problem has been fixed, I guarantee that I will deliver a performance that will not be forgotten. "Stay strong, you incredible fans," she said on her post.

Ayra Starr has emerged as one of the most influential players in the Afrobeats music movement ever since she made her debut in the mainstream music arena.

Due to the success of her singles "Bloody Samaritan" and "Rush," she became the first Nigerian female musician to earn a solo entry on the UK Singles chart. "Rush" also made her the first Nigerian female artist to attain success in the United Kingdom.

As she continues to earn global recognition for her talent and creativity, her popularity has been fast increasing, and there is a strong demand for her to perform in a variety of countries throughout the world.

When it comes to international concerts, unfortunately, visa restrictions can often present obstacles for musicians.

According to a report published by UNESCO, it is extremely usual for artists, particularly those hailing from Africa and other developing nations, to experience difficulties obtaining visas, which can result in the postponement or cancellation of performances.

These problems can include, but are not limited to, needs for documentation, cumbersome administrative procedures, or unanticipated events.
