No gov’t has decentralised the economy more than Akufo-Addo’s – Palgrave

Government Spokesperson on Governance and Security Palgrave Boakye-Danquah praised the Akufo-Addo administration, stating that it has expanded the country's economy to reach every corner.

He stated that no administration has decentralized the economy more than the current administration.

Dr. Boakye-Danquah stated that the flagship 'One District-One Factory' Policy is sufficient evidence of the decentralization of the economy.

He previously stated that Greater Accra Region was the largest tax contributor to the country's economy, contributing more than 90 percent.

Now, he insists, all other regions are contributing due to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's sound policies.

"President Nana Akufo-Addo is ensuring that Ghana develops," he asserted.

"The purpose of the new taxes is to ensure that every responsible Ghanaian contributes to the country's progress.

"If that is not done, there will be no progress in the country."

He also emphasized Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta's assertion that the government has "turned the corner" in terms of the economy.

Mr. Ofori-Atta assured Parliament on July 31 during the mid-year budget review presentation that the economy is rebounding and recovering consistently.

"This 'turning the corner' is supported by the investments and sacrifices we have made collectively since March 2020 during this difficult period," he told Parliament.

The government has ensured that Dr. Boakye-Danquah's sacrifices during the Covid-19 period have paid off, according to him.
