OSP arrests Frimpong-Boateng over corruption-related activities

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has opened an investigation into the activities of Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, who formerly served as Minister of the Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation.

After receiving an invitation from the Office many weeks ago, the famous cardiac surgeon is now the subject of an investigation because of the offer.

In particular, his report on the defunct Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining (IMCIM) was the impetus for his invitation to the meeting, which was held to discuss corruption and actions related to corruption.

After his alleged arrest, he was released on bond the same day in the amount of two million Ghana cedis.
