Osabarimba Kwesi Atta II, the Paramount Chief of the Cape Coast Traditional Area, has issued a warning that the Traditional Council will not accept any type of same-sex activities in Cape Coast during the 2023 edition of the Oguaa Fetu Afahye. This warning was issued by the Paramount Chief of the Cape Coast Traditional Area.

The Oguaamanhen stated that similar immoral actions were witnessed during last year's edition, but this year, the police are on standby to arrest and prosecute anyone who is caught participating in such acts.

The warning was issued by Osabarimba Kwesi Atta II before to the beginning of the 2023 iteration of the festival, which will take place on Friday, August 25.

"Those active with purported LGBTQ+ wanted to join the celebration, but that is not something that we support. The chief of police made the statement in Twi, "We shall not accept it here, and the police are on standby to arrest anyone who would indulge in it."

He warned that the law will take action against anyone who is caught engaging in such conduct, therefore people should refrain from doing so.

Advisory services on inappropriate attire
The Paramount Chief seized the opportunity to issue a stern warning to the young people who would be attending the event to abstain from engaging in any aggressive or anti-social behavior.

They should celebrate, but they should do it in moderation because if others who will come and celebrate with us see these things, they will go with bad names. "To the youths, they should celebrate, but it should be in moderation. Have fun, but remember that there should be certain boundaries. We want people to dress appropriately, and the police will be present to arrest individuals who engage in these and other behaviors that are not in the best interest of society.

The tourist industry in Cape Coast
Osabarima noted, in reference to the potential for tourism in Cape Coast, "there are many tourism potentials in Cape Coast, and it is important for the people of Cape Coast."

"We are taking measures to protect it. Tourism in this region is unparalleled. This location is home to the very first Methodist Church. This location is home to the earliest Anglican Church. Everyone from the Cape Coast Castle as well as representatives from the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) are in attendance today. They have been helping us out in a variety of different ways," he continued.

Educational progress and advancement
Osabarima shared that the focus of this year's event was on education because of the need for advancements in the field.

The chief made these remarks in the context of the event's subject, which was "Celebrating our educational institution for enhancing education in Oguaa." He remarked, "Schools in Cape Coast have brought us good name."

"Our students choose our schools at a higher rate than students in any other region of the country. They come to me and others, and these schools are built everywhere, both locally and internationally; hence, we will investigate the function that schools play in the life of Cape Coast."

Osabarima Kwei Atta II made the following statement: "We expect school to parade with us... to show the importance of education."
