Prophet Oduro warns parliament: 2024 Elections at risk if IGP Dampare is touched

Prophet Oduro stressed that any attempt to remove the IGP from office could have disastrous implications, potentially jeopardizing the integrity of the 2024 elections.

In a recent sermon, he warned Parliament against advocating Dampare's dismissal or taking any negative action against him.

"Let me take this opportunity to urge the inquiry and the Ghanaian Parliament not to make the mistake of removing Doctor (IGP) or recommending to the President of Ghana the removal of Dr. George Akuffo Dampare."


"That will be your worst mistake ever...you remember when President Mahama was president and when he released those three boys." When he pardoned them, I predicted that the president's election would be jeopardized, and I was correct.

"I am asking Ghana's president if Parliament should make a recommendation because we are approaching the point where Akuffo Dampare should be replaced as Inspector General of Police." "You would have tainted the next election's integrity, veracity, and authenticity," he warned.

Dr. George Akuffo Dampare recently testified before a parliamentary committee investigating an alleged leaked audio involving an ouster plot by several top police officials and former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Northern Regional Chairman, Alhaji Bugri Naabu.

The recording describes a backdoor scheme to depose Dampare and contains various claims against him.
