According to the 'Ayoo' singer, the origin of this rift can be traced back to the historic Glo Mega-Concert that took place on October 25, 2018.

It was a monumental occurrence that would prove to be a defining point in the friendship that existed between Shatta Wale and Sarkodie.

After some preliminary back and forth, the two musicians came to the conclusion that they would ask for a total of one hundred fifty thousand dollars for their participation in the Glo deal. The fact that the organizers appeared to undervalue Shatta Wale's participation by only paying him a compensation of $131,000 for his work rather than the initial proposal of $150,000 added fuel to the fire.

Shatta Wale's estimation of his own worth and his standing in the industry took a severe hit as a direct result of this move.
