Seikwa Residents Angry Over Dilapidated Roads

Residents of Seikwa, which is located in the Tain district of the Bono region, have organized a protest against the poor condition of the highways in their community.

Residents expressed concern that their roadways have been abandoned for several years despite the region's agricultural importance.

According to them, the poor condition of the roads has negatively affected their enterprises.

Drivers and merchants on the road have complained for years about the terrible condition of their roads, but to no avail.

In response to the residents' concerns, Lucy Acheampong, chief executive officer of the Tain District, stated that the government is taking steps to repair the Seikwa to Sampa road by the end of 2024.

According to her, the government is presently working on ten road networks in the district.

She also promised that all deteriorating roadways in the community would be renovated by December or early January.

Regional Minister of Bono, Justina Owusu Banahene, told Nhyira FM's Kuro Yi Mu Nsem that the contractor in control of road construction had his contract terminated and re-awarded for delaying the construction.
