The Mother Who Killed Her Daughter and Ate Her Body Parts Explains Why She Did It

The 24-year-old woman who murdered and consumed her daughter's body parts has blamed mental illness for her actions. She is being held for ten days while an investigation is conducted.

Tuesday, a Kajiado court ordered the detention of Olivia Naiserian, who is charged with murder for allegedly murdering her two-year-old daughter.

The woman allegedly cut up her infant with a knife before consuming some of her internal organs.

Olivia Naserian is accused of murdering her daughter Glory Njeri on Sunday, April 23, at their residence in Kitengela's Milimani Estate.

She then began to consume her internal organs before neighbors called the police, who arrived and arrested her.

The Nation newspaper claimed to have conducted an interview with her shortly before her arrest on Monday, during which she stated that she loathes herself. She also attributed it to suffering without further explanation.

"Ninajichukia mwenyewe. Sijipendi ndio maana niliua mtoto wangu. Nimepitia magumu na huyu mtoto.(I despise myself. Because I suffer from low self-esteem, I murdered my infant. Ms. Naserian was quoted in the Nation as saying, "I have been through a lot with my daughter."

She explains that she initially intended to terminate her own life before changing her mind and stabbing her daughter multiple times in a horrifying scene. She does not mention the types of suffering she has endured with her baby.

Neighbors who attempted to save the infant by breaking the door but were too late to do so documented the woman's tragic act. The infant was already dead when they obtained access.

Her parents were not at home when the incident occurred. Olivia is being held at the Kitengela Police Station while detectives conduct their investigations.

"This is a strange occurrence. We will interrogate her to determine the motive for the murder. "We are also investigating whether the murder was premeditated," police say.

Tuesday, she appeared before Chief Magistrate Jane Kamau, who ordered Naserian to remain in police custody for an additional 10 days to enable investigators to complete their work.
