They have rejected your party, they won't buy lies

The presidential campaign council of the All Progressives Congress (APC) says Nigerians will not “buy the lies” of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

This was said on Saturday in a statement sent by the APC presidential campaign council's director of media and publicity, Bayo Onanuga.

The PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar recently stated that he does not understand why Nigeria should continue be dealing with the Boko Haram problem, especially with the deployment of the military.

Atiku and certain PDP stakeholders have recently criticised the APC-led administration for how it is handling the economy, security, and other sectors in different public forums.

The APC presidential campaign committee claimed in a statement on Saturday that the opposition leaders lacked the "capacity for introspection" necessary to comprehend the status of the nation under the APC government.

As said in the statement, "Let us not forget that the PDP left our infrastructure in disrepair and our highways inaccessible after allocated funds to contractors had been split by party loyalists."

"Let's not forget that this party, which is now acting as recovery agents, had already brought our nation to a standstill and put our economy in a coma before.

"Let's not forget that the PDP has been in power in Sokoto and Bayelsa for the past eight years, the two poorest states in our nation.

"For the past seven and a half years, the Buhari administration has worked to clean up the messes that the PDP's previous administrations left behind.

"Despite difficulties on the economic front, including declining tax revenues made worse by oil theft, the administration has been able to highlight a number of game-changing initiatives.

"The Second Niger Bridge is one of them; it was temporarily opened on December 15th. The Delta state of Ifeanyi Okowa and the south-eastern states were assured that the bridge would be built by the PDP.

"The party made hollow promise after empty promise for 16 years. In 2018, Muhammadu Buhari made the decision to take up the task. He gave it again, and in a flash, the 1.6 kilometer-long bridge was completed.

Additionally, it includes auxiliary infrastructure such as a 10.3 kilometre highway, a bypass for Owerri, and an Obosi toll station.

"While we assure Nigerians that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, our presidential candidate, would build on Buhari's achievements and enhance the economy and security, we can only tell the PDP that Nigerians have rejected you and that our people will not fall for your lies once more. According to the Cable report.
