Things under Highly Spiritual were on and off; I even wanted to sell my car at a point – Mr Drew

Andrew Nii Commey Otoo, better known by his stage as Mr. Drew, has discussed the difficulties he had while working for Highly Spiritual Music. He made these comments in a recent interview.

The songwriter behind the hit song "Case" claims that the time period in question was distinguished by struggle as well as eventual success.

During the course of an interview, he disclosed all of this information in order to shed light on his rise to fame.

When he thought back on it, he said, "Things under the record label were on and off. Even if it wasn't the usual, it was nonetheless bearable. I distinctly recall Papa Kaywa coming to talk that at one point in time, I was even trying to sell my automobile, so that should give you a fair picture of how bad things were. I have no idea what happened to my car. That was before the hit songs appeared, and after that, it got better, but despite the fact that things grew better, it wasn't quite there. It was not insurmountable.

Mr. Drew made it clear that there were no unresolved issues leading up to his resignation from Highly Spiritual when he was discussing his departure from the company.

Instead, it was a decision that was reached between the two of them via mutual understanding and regard for one another. "Fortunately, my employment agreement came to an end, so I was able to avoid abruptly quitting." I was successful in getting out of my contract. "Everyone understood the situation, and we all moved on," he disclosed. "It was a mutual thing."

Nevertheless, the component of the conversation that stood out the most to me was Mr. Drew's reiteration of his intention to leave his portion of the earnings to Highly Spiritual. This is both a sign of gratitude and an unusual practice in the music industry.

He repeated what he had previously indicated, which was that he is walking away from the royalties he had previously earned from the successful songs he had released under the label.

"Leaving the royalties with Highly Spiritual was me saying thank you [to Kaywa] for everything, and then I'd leave it at that," he revealed with me. "Let's just leave it at that."
