The National Identification Authority (NIA) will launch premium registration services in five of its regional offices beginning tomorrow, Monday, June 12, 2023.

Bono, Bono East, Western North, Volta, and Northern are the regions.

The NIA stated in a statement that these services would be provided in addition to those offered at its headquarters and CalBank's regional offices in Accra, Ashanti, Eastern, and Western regions.

According to the NIA, the centres would offer fee-based services such as registration and issuance of Ghana cards for the first time (Ghc280), replacement of lost, stolen, or damaged cards (Ghc110), and update of records requiring production of new cards (Ghc110).

The statement issued by the NIA indicated that updates of records that will incur a fee include the change or correction of the applicant's name, the change or correction of the applicant's name order, the correction or addition of the applicant's name or maiden name, the correction of the applicant's date of birth, the change or correction of the applicant's nationality, the correction of the applicant's gender, and the change or correction of the applicant's height.

The NIA stated that applicants requesting premium services should be aware that the system will be online and walk-in.
