A church near Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho (LAUTECH) has received praise from a group known as the "Yahoo Boys" for not condemning their activities, unlike other places of worship.
Chris Popoola, a former student pastor at the church, shared his experience and cast light on the story's implications as he described the incident.
According to Chris, during his tenure as a student pastor, the senior pastor of the church frequently criticized Yahoo Boys' activities, causing them to stop attending church services.
These individuals, seeking acceptance and understanding, flocked to a nearby church that did not condemn their actions.
The unexpected turn of events occurred when word spread that the Yahoo Boys had purchased a noiseless generating set, also known as a "Mikano gen," as a token of gratitude to the church that had welcomed them without condemnation.
The purpose of the new generator was to reduce noise disturbances during services, demonstrating their appreciation.
Chris used this story to illustrate a more profound point about sinners' search for validation and spiritual guidance.
He penned;
"When I was a student Pastor in a church in the Lautech Area, I recall how yahoo boys ceased attending and instead flocked to this other church because my senior pastor would not stop warning them.
We recently learned that yahoo boys purchased Mikano gen for this other congregation. Sinners know where to go when they want to hear the truth of God's word, and they also know where to go when they want to be validated.
Be the place where they find conviction by the Holy Spirit, and not a place where immoral lifestyles are validated.
