You’re in trouble if you don’t pay your taxes – Kurt Okraku after vetting

After passing his vetting on Monday, Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku emanated an air of self-assurance. This comes as the country's presidential election is just one month away.

The screening of potential candidates for the presidency took place at the Alisa Hotel in Accra. Okraku presided over the proceedings and was followed by George Afriyie, a former vice president of the Ghana Football Association.

After successfully completing his vetting session, Kurt Okraku spoke about a significant factor that is considered when candidates are reviewed, namely, their honesty and their ability to comply with tax laws. He emphasized the importance of the integrity session, which investigates important topics such as the payment of taxes and the avoidance of making false disclosures. Okraku stated, "It is self-evident that you would be required to participate in the integrity session." whether or not you have made payment on your taxes. You are going to get in trouble if you don't pay your taxes, and I want to make sure that you haven't made any false declarations in any way, shape, or form in reference to this opening.

Okraku exhibited confidence in the screening procedure, despite the in-depth nature of the assessments that were conducted. He said, "I believe that things went rather smoothly. Given what I have said, I have every reason to believe that everything will go through without a hitch, and that after that, we will be prepared for the elections.

Okraku, who defeated George Afriyie and a number of other candidates to win the position of FA President in 2019, is currently running for re-election in order to serve a second term in the role.

On Monday, August 28, the GFA Elections Committee will announce their decisions, providing greater clarity on the eligibility of the candidates.

The Ghana Football Association will choose its new leadership and members of the Executive Council at the next Elective Congress, which will take place on September 27 in Tamale.
