Ablakwa suggests utilizing the Contingency Fund to offer assistance to those affected by the floods.

The Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, is urging the government to utilize the Contingency Fund to assist flood victims caused by the Akosombo and Kpong dam spillage. He emphasizes that the Fund was specifically established for such emergencies and questions the whereabouts of the allocated GH¢600 million. Ablakwa stresses that waiting for the next budget cycle would be detrimental for the affected people, who are currently facing dire conditions. He expresses dissatisfaction with the government's perceived reluctance to provide relief for those impacted by the Akosombo Dam spillage. This statement was made during a radio interview on Citi FM on November 9, 2023.
