A picture of Cristiano Ronaldo's daughter wearing a Mohamed Salah jersey has surfaced amid rumours that the Egyptian could transfer to the Saudi Pro League.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, between now and 2030, the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Sport has allocated approximately £17 billion for Saudi Pro League transfers.

Indeed, Jacobs's allegation comes in the same week that Saudi club Al Hilal reportedly made a world-record bid for Kylian Mbappe, valued at €300 million (£259 million). According to reports, the club is prepared to pay the forward €200 million (£172 million) for a one-year stay if that is what it takes to close the deal.

Al Hilal reportedly explored the possibility of signing Neymar and Luka Modric in addition to attempting to sign Lionel Messi earlier this summer.

The Liverpool hero Salah has also been linked to the Saudi Pro League on multiple occasions. Earlier this summer, Saudi Arabian football official Hafez Al-Medlej urged the league to "start working on the signing" of Salah.

Al-Medlej, who has held positions with the Asian Football Confederation and Saudi Pro League, told Koura, "We must also begin working on the signing of Mohamed Salah, as he is immensely popular in both the Arab world and Europe."

"I believe Salah still has records to break with Liverpool, so I hope he will come in the future if he doesn't come now."
