Dr. Bawumia is lauded by a former NPP organiser.

Vice President Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has been congratulated by an elder of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Bono Region for winning the party's recently concluded super-delegate's congress.

However, the Party elder, Mr. Yaw Dabie Appiah Mensah, a former regional organiser for the then Brong-Ahafo Region, recommended his supporters to celebrate Dr. Bawumia's victory with moderation even though it had made the NPP proud as a Party and disproved naysayers.

He emphasised that "the Vice President's victory is a party victory" and warned that his supporters should abstain from behaviours that could exacerbate factionalism inside the Party.

He spoke about the congress's aftermath in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Odumase in the Sunyani West Municipality.
