Hearts of Oak’s Coach still calm after defeat

Hearts of Oak coach Martin Koopman maintains a positive outlook on his team's prospects for the season, even after experiencing a 1-0 loss to Real Tamale United (RTU) in their inaugural match of the Ghana Premier League.

Speaking following the match at the Aliu Mahama Stadium, Koopman acknowledged the disappointment of the defeat but expressed confidence in the team's potential. He stated, "I believe the overall performance was satisfactory, so let's focus on the next game and take steps forward. We must put in a lot of effort as a young team, but I have faith."

Koopman highlighted that the second-half display was more encouraging, and he believed a draw would have been a fair outcome for the team. He underscored the importance of continuous improvement and cohesive teamwork.

While RTU clinched victory with Owusu Afriyie's 92nd-minute header, Hearts of Oak, who boasted an impressive pre-season scoring record, will be eager to rediscover their scoring touch in the upcoming match. Their next challenge is against Nsoatreman at home, where they aim to rebound from the setback on the opening day.

Despite the less-than-ideal start, Hearts of Oak supporters can hold onto hope that their team will build upon the positive signs displayed by coach Koopman's youthful squad.
