MTN Awards 120 students with Scholarships

By awarding scholarships to the first group of 2023 MTN Bright Scholarship recipients, MTN Ghana Foundation has made another significant stride.

Around 120 deserving and gifted students, including those with disabilities, were given scholarships by the MTN Ghana Foundation this year at 17 public tertiary institutions. These recipients were chosen from among the 16 regions of the nation.

With no doubt, this admirable initiative will give these worthy kids the money they need to fulfil their academic aspirations. More specifically, the scholarships will pay for the cost of the student's tuition, housing, stipend, and laptop.

On September 8, 2023, a different ceremony will take place in Kumasi to distribute prizes to additional recipients.

Speaking during the presentation ceremony in Accra, Selorm Adadevoh, the Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana, stated that MTN is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of students through its scholarship programme.

This demonstrates how MTN has lived up to its promise to Ghanaians made during its 20th and 25th anniversaries to improve the lives of its users. As a Ghanaian private sector organisation, we want to encourage education and support our youth, he said.

He claims that 400 or more pupils have benefited from the programme over the past five years. 300 of them have already completed their degrees and are advancing the socioeconomic standing of the nation.

To maintain our standing in the global market, we seek to help Ghana's youth and educational endeavours.
