Ownership of Dekpor Mighty Rovers FA unchanged - Kwamigah Tanko

Dekpor Mighty Rovers Football Academy co-owner Gabriel Kwamigah Tanko said the ownership of the Academy has not changed hands as the public has mistakenly assumed.

He therefore sent a strong warning to any individual or group involved in the attempt to take over the Academy, especially Edem Agbana, who recently announced on social media, the continuation of the Academy. governing the Academy, in order to maintain its interests.

It is alleged that Edem Agbana and his accomplices are attempting to illegally take over the academy which is currently legally owned and managed by Kwamigah Tanko and Judge Ackey.

A statement issued by the Tanko Foundation management on July 18, 2023 about the development said:
"We bring to our attention a social media post in which Eric Edem Agbana alleges that he has taken over ownership of Dekpor Mighty Rovers Football Academy and the name of the Academy has been changed to Sports Academy. Nukunu."

The statement clearly states that Gabriel Tanko Kwamigah-Atokple is the director of the Academy and that no such change of ownership is affected within the Football Academy.

“Dekpor Mighty Rovers was incorporated in the General Registry as a limited liability company with a guarantee. Therefore, the Academy operates within the framework of corporate law, and changes in ownership are possible only once the law has been established.

He added that the certificate of
the establishment and other related documents of the Academy are owned by the owners and directors and wonder how the ownership of the Academy can change hands without due process.

According to the release, a search at the General Registry also revealed that the name and
The entity administrator has not changed.

Therefore, he urges the public, especially Dekpor Mighty Rovers FA followers and fans to ignore the circulating reports that ownership of the club has changed hands.

“Basic knowledge of Ghanaian law will tell people that a company registered under the Companies Act cannot change directors and for that matter, ownership is just a matter of a social media announcement – The best spread of news is a deliberate act by those seeking attention and trouble – Their actions are a regrettable display of ignorance and lack of law. Then, in an attempt to settle the matter unequivocally, Gabriel Kwamigah Tanko asked his lawyer, Afadjato Chambers, to write on his behalf the president of the Volta Regional Football Association, calling for a halt to all efforts to change ownership of Dekpor Mighty. Rovers Football Academy.

The letter dated July 17, 2023 said in part:

"We are a law firm representing Mr. Gabriel Tanko Kwamigah · Atokple, also known as Gabriel Kwabla Kwamigah, at his direction we are writing to you on the above subject."

"Our client says he's the co-manager of Mighty Rovers Football
Academy, a 2nd class club based in Dekpor in the North Ketu Municipality of the Volta Region, hereinafter referred to as the club – The aforementioned club is incorporated as an entity limited by guarantee under Ghana Companies Act [2019] 992. Our client is a co-owner of said club with Judge Ackey,” the letter states.

The letter added that:
“For over a year, our clients have played a major role in club sponsorship and almost exclusively finance club activities such as renting buses for their matches and providing funds for club activities.
