Short Film Competition and Showings for CANEX SHORTS

Through its Creative Africa Nexus (CANEX) project, the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) is excited to announce CANEX Shorts, a short film competition and screening event. CANEX Shorts is a fun and exciting competition where young artists can show off their work and win the chance to attend CANEX at IATF2023 and have their work shown there.

Filmmakers between the ages of 18 and 29 are encouraged to send in their short films, which can't be longer than 5 minutes, through Filmfreeway at https://filmfreeway.com/CANEXShorts to be considered. The selection committee will choose a group of films to send to the jury. The judges will then choose the 10 films that will be shown at the CANEX at IATF2023. From the short list, one winner will be chosen in each category:

Best Movie, Best Documentary, and Best Cartoon

The winning filmmakers will be asked to CANEX at IATF2023 to show off their work and meet possible investors and other partners at the largest gathering of creatives on the continent. A cash prize will also be given to each winner.

CANEX at IATF2023 is supposed to happen during the Intra African Trade Fair in 2023. It will be a 7-day event in Cairo from November 9 to November 15, 2023, and will provide more business-to-business and business-to-government possibilities. The event will be another important step in Afreximbank's implementation of the Creative Africa Nexus (CANEX) project, which is a multifaceted effort to support and grow Africa's creative sector, which is growing quickly.

The third IATF will be called "Connecting African Markets," and CANEX at IATF 2023 will bring together creatives, policymakers, financial institutions, business and political leaders, development partners, thought leaders, and the most powerful and respected names in the Creative and Cultural Industries from all over the continent and the diaspora.

This event, CANEX at IATF2023, will be a one-of-a-kind place for creatives to do business, invest, work together, form partnerships, and get inspired. It will bring together creatives from across the value chain of different creative and cultural industries, such as film, music, fashion, culinary arts, sports, and visual arts, among others.
