The KNUST Law Faculty has been praised for its high-quality law education.

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Faculty of Law has been praised by the government for its key role in promoting law education in Ghana.

Ms. Diana Asonaba Dapaah, who is a Deputy Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, said that the Faculty's extensive academic classes and courses had helped make high-quality lawyers for the good of society.

She asked it to always give its students a good legal education by keeping the right number of students to teachers and giving them the best and most up-to-date legal tools.

Ms. Asonaba Dapaah said this at the start of the 20th anniversary of the Faculty in Kumasi. The theme of the event was "Prospects and Challenges of Quality, Accessible, and Affordable Legal Education in the 21st Century".

Since it opened in August 2003, the KNUST Law Faculty has taught a lot of lawyers and people who work in human resources. Many of these people now hold important jobs in Ghana and around the world.

Four of the 21 new justices of the High Court who were sworn in by the President in February 2023 were graduates of the Faculty.

These people are Justices Alexander Oworae, Priscilla Dapaah Mireku, Ellen Lordina Serwaa Mireku, and Adelaide Abui Keddey.

It has also won many international and national awards, including the Christof Heyns African Human Rights Moot Court Competition, which is the most important place for students, scholars, and judges to talk about human rights problems in Africa.

Ms. Asonaba Dapaah said that the demand for easy access to legal education shouldn't overshadow the equally important need to make sure that legal education is strong and of good quality.
"Quality schooling is what holds the legal community together... As we start this anniversary party, she said, "let's not forget the power and responsibility that come with a legal education."

She talked about the importance of law to society by saying that it could change people's lives, protect their rights, and shape their future. She also asked law students and lawyers to follow the rules of their field.

She said, "As lawyers, it is our job to uphold the highest ethical standards, defend the rule of law, and fight for justice and equality."4

The Vice-Chancellor of KNUST, Professor Mrs. Rita Akosua Dickson, said that the Law Faculty's milestone was a success, citing the many foreign and national awards it had won and the high quality of its teaching.

She said that the goods of the Faculty were supposed to meet the country's needs for workers and help the country grow.

It uses seminars, tutorials, workshops, and moots to teach, help students learn, and give courses.
