Uncle Waffles is the newest Isgubhu cover artist, according to Apple Music.

The new Isgubhu cover star has been revealed by Apple Music as Amapiano DJ and producer Uncle Waffles (actual name Lungelihle Zwane).

Uncle Waffles tells Apple Music that the piano genre "continues to diversify, proving that it's the genre that can cater to all tastes and accommodate all voices." This playlist serves as an illustration of the genre's historical and contemporary greatness as well as its ongoing development. These are a few of my fave tracks that really capture the dance scene.

During South Africa's severe Covid-19 lockdowns, Uncle Waffles, a Swaziland native and DJ, taught herself the profession by buckling down for 8-hour stints at a time. Drake, who is now one of her greatest admirers, co-signed the song after seeing her dancing to Young Stunna's "Adiwele" in a video that went viral.

Uncle Waffles was able to translate her live performance talent into recorded material with her much awaited debut EP Red Dragon (2022), which was led by the electrifying lead hit "Tanzania," which has been certified as quadruple platinum in South Africa.

Prior to performing at Coachella, the piano DJ and producer added hip-hop to her debut album Asylum (2023). Her most recent single, "Echoes" (2023), which is streamable on Apple Music, is a soulful, private-school piano musing on lost love and features smooth vocalists Manana and Lusanda.

In honour of her publication, Uncle Waffles has also compiled the finest dance tracks from Mzansi's top musicians on an exclusive Isgubhu playlist.

This month, we showcase Zakes Bantwini's Mayonie Productions, which includes DJ mixes by Argento Dust, Kususa, Drega, and BlaQRhythm as well as additional content from the reputable dance label. Each month, we highlight Africa's most distinctive and prolific sound incubators.

Isgubhu, which debuted in early 2021, is the only place on Apple Music where you can listen to African Dance and Electronic music. It also promotes and elevates the work of African Electronic DJs, producers, and creators. Isgubhu, a Zulu word for beat and the name of a booming song, pays respect to a number of timeless genres and the African musicians that have had a significant impact on the global Dance and Electronic scene.

Isgubhu also has a number of playlists, such as Spotlight On, which highlights independent labels like Soul Candi, House Afrika, Stay True Sounds, and Uganda's Hakuna Kulala & Nyege Nyege Tapes, and Isgubhu Voices, which highlights the best vocal-driven dance and electronic music.
