Akufo-Addo must reshuffle himself - NDC Communications Director

The Northern Regional Communications Director of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Abdul-Ganiyu Sandow has rubbished the recent ministerial Reshuffle by President Akufo-Addo, saying that it is not enough.

According to him, the President himself and Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta need to resign and be replaced for running down the economy of the country.

He said other Ministers such as the Health Minister who he claims is unwell needed to be sacked to make way for new people to take up their positions.

"Nana Addo himself must be resigning, he himself has to resign, because, I mean he's failed us. So he should go beyond what he has done and remove the Finance Minister and the Health Minister and resign himself" Mr Sandow said.

President Akufo-Addo on Tuesday wrote to the Speaker of Parliament to inform him about the new changes in his government.

However, conspicuously missing in the President's reshuffle was Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta who many, including some 97 NPP Members of Parliament called for his removal. The President seems to have kept faith in Mr Ofori-Atta.

Mr Sandow who was reacting to the latest Ministerial reshuffle by President Akufo-Addo on the Prime News at 8pm on Tamale-based Radio Justice 98.5 FM on Tuesday said the reshuffle will have no impact on turning the economy around.

"What difference are there going to make? If you want to see difference or changes, then the Finance Minister has to go. Once you have this finance minister there who has ran out of ideas and now thinks that he can now feed on pensioners money and feed on individual bondholders' money, to be able to run this country? I'm sorry, this has never happened in this country" he said.

He added "If he really mean to do reshuffle, a lot of his Ministers who are still at post, needs be home and be resting, so that he can inject in fresh blood and more vibrant people to be able to run this country too well".

New Ministers will bring in more energy

Meanwhile, Deputy General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Haruna Mohammed has said that the new Ministers will bring in more energy into the government.

According to him, many of the new appointees will justify their inclusion in President Akufo-Addo's administration by bringing in the needed energy to revitalize the administration.

"Sometimes development is not about bringing something new but even continuously making improvements in what even you have but I believe that these people will bring in more energy.

" If you have a football team and you are playing on and on with all the expertise, at a point in time, some people will get tired" he told Radio Justice Prime News.
