Dagombas in Europe and America donate to Center for Faith Education Orphanage in Tamale

Tabsong Dagbang Maligu, an association made up of Dagombas living in the Americas and Europe, has made a donation of assorted items to Center For Faith Education, an orphanage located in Tamale.

The items donated which cost some GhC12,000 included bags of rice, bags of maize, gallons of cooking oil, bags of sugar, cartons of milk, dates and Boxes of tin tomatoes as well as confectioneries and a cash amount of Ghc2000.
The intervention made on behalf of the group by its local representatives, Mudasir Hafiz Ahmed and Hajia Hawa Zakaria, was to aid the inmates of the orphanage to go through fasting in the islamic holy month of Ramadan.

During the presentation, Mudasir Ahmed Hafiz, said the gesture was in line with the groups vision of helping to alleviate sufferings of the poor and underprivileged masses within the Dagbang enclave. He said the group in recent years has helped advance development by drilling boreholes to ease access to quality drinking water, supporting health facilities to ensure the delivery of quality healthcare and moblising resources to support the Dagbang Development Agenda.



Caretaker of the orphanage, Hajia Amishaw who received the items on behalf of the orphans and widows, expressed her gratitude to the group and said their intervention was timely as it will help the home to cater for its inmates as they go through the month-long fasting of Ramadan.
The caretaker also appealed to benevolent individuals and groups to follow the example of Tabsong Dagbang Maligu group, saying a donation to the orphanage will go a long way to enhance quality and general wellbeing of its inmates.
Tabsong Dagbang Maligu was formed by Zuu Bukali Sadiq of blessed memory with the aim of mobilising resources to help advance development in Dagbang. The group's current President is Sigli Ahmed who is based in the UK. Alhaji Alhassan, Chief of the Dagomba Community in Germany is Vice President of the group, American based Abu Sofian is treasurer while Abdul Karim Bojoua who is based in Italy is the organiser. Others are Auntie Sirina Issah, a veteran highlife musician who now resides permanently in America is Executive and member of the Advisory Board.
The rest are Hajia Aisha, USA, Abdallah Yunus JB, Spain, and Nyab Sapashini, Malta.
