Gbewaa Palace denies “blasting” Kennedy Agyapong, describes reports as fake news

The Gbewaa Palace has denied media reports claiming that Ndan Ya Naa Abukari II, the King of Dagbon blasted NPP Flagbearer Hopeful, Kennedy Agyapong during his visit to the Palace on Thursday over his recent comments that allegedly incites hatred against people of Northern extraction.

The palace described the reports as “fake and a pure fabrication by a politically inclined person”.

Mr Yakubu Musah, the Public Relations Officer of Ndan Ya Naa who denied the reports said several media houses covered the visit of Mr Agyapong and it was therefore surprising that some journalists deliberately twisted the facts to suit their “political agenda”.

“The story is fake and just a fabrication by someone. The king received him well and prayed for all the aspirants.

It was a pure concoction, he gifted the Ya Naa a pick up and if someone gifts you something and you won’t even thank him, you definitely will not insult him. It is purely not our tradition” the PRO told GhanaWeb’s Northern Regional Correspondent, Mumuni Y Yunus.

Responding to the reports which were published by some media houses, a member of the Northern Regional Campaign Team of Mr Agyapong, Amadu Hassan Kapinta described the reports as unfortunate.

"As a media house, I believe you could have avoided this by verifying from your representative who was present at the palace than resorting to a facebook source that is deliberately misleading. Unless of course you are a partner in this scheme to dent the image of the honorable philanthropist who has always heeded to the call of northerners anytime we need his help."

" This move by you is unfortunate and we believe your leadership will do the needful by pulling this post down with an apology ASAP.
Let's not lure people into thinking you have been paid to do this." he added.
