Government has done well in managing economic crisis- Ya Naa

The King and Overlord of the Dagbon State, Ya Naa Abukari II has said that government has done well in its attempts to proffer solutions for the country’s economic crisis.

The king said even though the numerous challenges the Dagbon people and Ghanaians faced including hikes in prices of essential goods and services and the high cost of living were unbearable, government deserved commendation for its handling of the crisis in 2022 which he attributed to both internal and external factors.

“In the past year, recognized the numerous challenges our people faced, including hikes in prices of essential goods and services and also the high cost of living in the entire country, including the Dagbon State. The economic situation in 2022 was tough, exacerbated by both internal and external factors.

“The government has done well in its attempts to proffer solutions and I commend her. The tremendous endurance by all and sundry in this excruciating year, 2022, is highly commendable.” Ya Naa Abukari II said in his New Year message to Ghanaians.

The Overlord of Dagbon said despite the crisis, farm in Dagbon did “reasonably well” in 2022 and therefore urged farmers to “judiciously utilize their farm produce for the benefit of their families and the local economy”.

“In 2023, the Royal Court prays for better times for all Ghanaians especially the citizenry of Dagbon and all those living here with us.” He added.
Ya Naa Abukari II appealed “to all citizens to take both crops and livestock farming as a serious venture. Agriculture can play a key role in the transformation of the Dagbon State and the entire Northern Ghana.”
