I’ll be on the campaign trail with you - NR Minister declares support for Tamale South Aspirant

The Northern Regional Minister, Alhaji Saani Alhassan Shaibu has declared his support for an Aspiring Tamale South NPP Parliamentary Candidate, Alhaji Fuseini Musah.

The Northern Regional Minister who describes the Parliamentary Aspirant as his nephew explained that Alhaji Fuseini was his “backbone” during his days as the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Mion, hence his decision to lend his full support to him.

The Northern Regional Minister who joined the Aspirant to submit his parliamentary nomination form at the Tamale South Constituency Secretariat on Monday declared that he was going to “be on the campaign platform” with Alhaji Fuseini to ensure he sails through the primaries.

He said just like the incumbent MP snatched the seat from the late MP for the area, Alhaji Mustapha Ali Idris with little resources in 2004, he was convinced that Alhaji Fuseini would also do same by taking back the seat for the NPP in 2024.

A large crowd accompanied Alhaji Fuseini, who is a businessman to submit his forms ahead of the crucial parliamentary primaries scheduled for later this year.

Alhaji Fuseini Musah who spoke after submitting his forms said that the Tamale South seat was not the sole property of the NDC, adding that claims that the seat was not one the NPP could not win was completely untrue.

He said his tour round the constituency revealed that all the party needed to snatch the seat from the NDC's Haruna Iddrisu was 'resources'.

He expressed the believe that he is the right candidate to snatch the seat for the NPP because he has gathered enough resources and would utilize it well for victory if he is made the party’s Parliamentary Candidate.

Alhaji Fuseini is one of four aspirants seeking to represent the NPP at the 2024 Parliamentary Elections.

He is facing stiff competition from Alhaji Baba Alhassan, the University for Development Studies' student who has vowed to unseat the former Minority Leader.

The NPP has not won the Tamale South Constituency since Mr Iddrisu snatched it away from the late Alhaji Mustapha Ali Idris in 2004 when it was the Gulkpegu-Sabonjida Constituency.
